Winter Sanctuary Funding Update, 11/17

Posted on November 17, 2011. Filed under: Homelessness |

Hey there everyone! As we raise much-needed funds for the Winter Sanctuary program, we’re committed to keeping the community up-to-date on our progress! As I’m sure you’ve seen, Winter Sanctuary is currently experiencing a critical funding gap. While the program is set to begin on December 1 (in just 14 days), if the gap isn’t significantly narrowed, the program will not begin.  {If you haven’t seen our recent fundraising appeal, click here}

Below, a complete listing of all the fabulous foundations, agencies and individuals who have already donated to Winter Sanctuary (we couldn’t do it without them):

Total Raised: $71, 158
How much is left to raise? 76,842
*Winter Sanctuary is Sacramento’s rotating, interfaith shelter. Last year, Winter Sanctuary provided shelter, food and community for one hundred homeless adults each night from December through March. If this program doesn’t open, single, homeless adults will have few options to escape the cold, wet winter weather. At last count in Sacramento County, close to 1,000 of our neighbors are sleeping outside.
It costs just $11/night for one person to stay a night in Sanctuary. Can you help? Please visit us at SacramentoStepsForward.org to donate.
